Urgent appointments

To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday):

  • phone us on 01162783066, Monday to Friday at 8.30am and 12.00pm

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use the information you give us to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

Routine healthcare professional appointments

Our appointments with our healthcare professionals can be pre-booked and this can be done up to two weeks in advance.

  • phone us on 01162783066, Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 11.30am and 2.30pn and 6pm
  • use your NHS account to book a screening test or vaccination
  • You can contact us with your request using Contact us Online

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by telephone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Telephone Appointments

When requesting an appointment, the reception team ask you for an indication of the reason for the appointment. This is to ensure that you are given an appointment with the most appropriate healthcare professional. You do not have to give this information, it is purely to give you an appointment that will be the most benefit to you.

Help us to help you

  • Please keep your phone with you at all times to ensure you don’t miss your booked telephone appointment.
  • Please arrive on time for your face to face appointment.
  • Please cancel your appointment if you do not need it.
  • Please remember to order your repeat medication before you run out.

What happens if I miss my call?

We understand that calls may be missed from time to time.

If you miss your call the clinician will attempt to you call you once more, if you miss a second call then we ask you to call the Practice to rebook another telephone appointment

Cancelling or changing an appointment

If, before your appointment, you no longer need to see the doctor or nurse, then it is important to ring the practice to let us know. The free slot can then be offered to another patient, this could help towards reducing waiting times. 

To cancel your appointment:

  • use your NHS account
  • using the GP online system – SystmOnline
  • phone us on 01162783066, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6.30pm
  • Monday to Friday from 8am to 6.30pm

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Home visits

If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need.

To request a home visit, it’s helpful if you phone the practice as soon after 8am as possible.
